The same basket of 20 everyday items, same specifications, every month — from the official price lists of Serbia's biggest chains.
A fixed basket: same items, same sizes, every month — so the comparison is always fair.
The average Kinta user pays 6.2% more than a year ago for the same products they actually buy.
Tuesday — the day when the products users buy most are historically cheapest.
20 fixed items with fixed specifications. The basket changes only with an announced annual revision — never silently.
For each item, in each covered chain, we take the lowest regular or active-promo price of any product matching the specification, from the chain's official machine-readable price list on the reference day. If the exact size is unavailable, the closest size is unit-price normalized.
A chain's basket = the sum of its 20 item prices. The headline Kinta basket = the average across covered chains; "cheapest chain" = the lowest chain total.
Basket statistics come from public retailer price lists (feed) — no privacy constraints apply. Panel statistics (marked k≥20) come from anonymized Kinta receipts and are never published from fewer than 20 households.
Published on the 3rd of every month for the previous month. Values are frozen at publication — we never restate history without a note.
